Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing The Clay Club. We want you to enjoy your experience with us. Below is our policy regarding refunds and transfers for classes, workshops, events and studio hire.

1. Scope
This policy applies to all bookings made for:

  • Regular classes and sessions

  • Workshops and special events

  • Studio hire / space rental (if applicable)

  • Memberships (if offered)
    Where applicable, separate payment terms may apply — these will be clearly indicated at the time of booking.

2. Booking & Payment
When you book a class, workshop or event, payment is required to secure your spot. Your booking confirms your acceptance of this refund policy.

3. Cancellation by The Clay Club
If we cancel a class, workshop or event (for example, due to low enrolment, instructor illness or other unforeseen circumstances), we will offer:

  • A full refund of your payment, or

  • A credit (voucher) to use for another class/workshop at The Clay Club.
    We will endeavour to notify you as early as possible.

4. Cancellation by You – Transfers, Credits & Refunds
If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing (e-mail or via our website) as soon as possible. The following terms apply:

  • More than 14 days before the session/workshop: You may transfer your booking to another session (subject to availability) or receive a credit.

  • Within 14 days of the session/workshop (including “no-shows”): Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund, and credit or transfer may not be available unless we are able to fill your spot.

  • If you are unable to attend due to illness or emergency, please contact us and we will review on a case-by-case basis; at our discretion a credit may be offered.

5. Workshops & Special Events
Some workshops or events may have stricter terms (for example, due to materials ordered in advance or guest instructors). These will be clearly stated at the time of booking. In such cases the cancellation window for refund or credit may be longer or more restricted.

6. Goods / Retail Items
If you purchase physical goods (for example, retail pottery pieces, gift vouchers, tool kits) from The Clay Club, our usual refund/return policy as per New Zealand consumer law applies. We aim for fairness and will handle any issues of damage, fault or dissatisfaction promptly. Please contact us within 30 days of purchase if there is a problem with the item.

7. How to Request a Refund or Credit

Include your booking details (name, date, class/workshop) and reason for cancellation. If eligible, we will issue a credit voucher or process the refund (less any applicable administration fee) within 7 working days.

8. Changing the Policy
We reserve the right to update or change this refund policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will apply to bookings made after the date of change.
